Coronavirus News Live Updates: The daily Covid-19 cases in Delhi crossed the 1,000 mark in the last 24 hours ending 8 am on Monday as the capital recorded 1,118 new cases. Two deaths and 500 recoveries were also recorded, while the active cases are currently at 3,177.

India reported 6,594 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, down from 8,084 infections recorded till Monday morning. The active cases now stand at 50,548 while 195.35 crore Covid-19 vaccines doses have been administered so far. The recovery rate is now at 98.67 per cent, while the daily and weekly positivity rates are 2.05 and 2.32 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, Omicron sub-variant BA.4 and BA.5 have been found in patients with coronavirus infection in Mumbai, in the latest round of genome sequencing conducted at the Kasturba Gandhi Hospital. According to officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), three patients have been detected with sub-variant BA.4 and one patient with BA.5 sub-variant in Mumbai. These patients were identified from samples taken between May 14 and 24.
